The Lonely Island is creating a pilot in a box for Freeform

The Lonely Island is finally returning to TV after leaving Saturday Night Live about six years ago. Freeform, formerly known as ABC Family, has picked up the slapstick trio’s captain Alone Together .

According to Freeform’s press release, Alone Together will be about, “two neglected millennial eccentrics from different backgrounds as they try to make their room into the vain and status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles simply to find redemption in their male/ female exclusively platonic friendship.”

Comedians Esther Povitsky and Benji Aflalo will perform as the young man and female who have a uncommon, truly platonic friendship. They will write the captain and exec render the demonstrate with Eben Russell.

Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer make up the Lonely Island, a slapstick trio that has been together since 2001.

They likewise expended several years determining us laugh on SNL with entertaining viral videos including “Dick in a Box, ” “I’m on a Boat” and “I Just Had Sex.”
